Patsas & Joku puhuu
Patsas and Joku puhuu will perform at Bar Kotelo as part of the event night's music offering. Patsas is a new and personable band on the Finnish music scene, which has already touched many listeners with its engaging music and atmospheric live performances.
Patsas´s latest songs Käärmeenvuoteella and Supernormalia appeared on Spotify's New Music Friday and Suomirock today playlists, as well as being introduced and played on Radio Suomi and Radio Soi playlists.
Patsas calls it´s music nurturing deep pop, where influences from different eras of pop music as well as electronic and cinematic nuances are mixed into a unique whole. In Patsas´s lyrics, one often moves in the deeper and most beautiful layers of life and in the mental landscapes of a person, which are tinged with strong hope, good energy and bright views.
Tampere-based Joku puhuu plays relaxed, prog-style Finnish pop rock. The band has two songwriters: bassist Mika Lonka and singer-keyboardist Aino Putaala. While Aino's piano driven songs are like miniature musicals in their versatility, Mika relies on acoustic guitar and rolling rock.
His latest releases Joku puhuulta are the wistful but determined erotic Ei enää (2023), and Perlan valssi (2023), which evokes the carefree nature of childhood summers and the inevitable chaos that comes with memory loss. The four-song Sinulle EP, released in 2020, is also worth a listen.
