Intriguing instruments and amazing a cappella music at the Programme Tent
4.5.2018
The Programme Tent will emerge to be a part of Tampere Theatre Festival on the 7th of August. For the 19th time Tampere Central Square is filled with poetry, melodies and theatre performances! The five day festival will offer ten evening events.
The opening night gives Tuuletar (The Goddess of the Wind) a chance to show that if you have a passion for music, there are no limits or need for other instruments – except for the human voice! This awarded Finnish ”vocal folk hop” group has impressed people all over the world. Their music has been heard for example in a Game of Thrones -trailer!
One of the brightest stars of the Programme Tent is Ida Elina. The audience will experience the versatility of one beautiful voice and a tender sound of kantele, the Finnish national instrument. The ancient folk tunes, classical music and pop music of today go hand in hand as this charismatic artist gives the instrument her magic touch. Jazz, soul, gospel, Michael Jackson, Nina Simone, Toto… there seems to be no limit when it comes to this musician.
The Tent is full of Finnish poetry, Kaj Chydenius melodies, music by Astor Piazzolla and Jacques Brel, stage music of the 21st century – read more from Programme Tent website! >>
