Anniversaries, theatre and atmospheric music at T Lab

The T Lab programme of Tampere Theatre Festival offers concerts for all tastes, comic and touching theatre and stage works combining sound and video art, music and theatre. As in previous years, T Lab performances will be presented at Tampere G Livelab 6–10.8.2024.
Tampere Theatre Festival honors the memory of its perennial guest, Kaj Chydenius, with a concert of his works performed by his credited singers Minja Koski and Mikael Saari. Chydenius's songs will also be heard in Huojuu elämän puu, a performance of poetry and songs of war and peace by Kristiina Halkola, Vuokko Hovatta, Jussi Lehtonen, Teea Aarnio and Antti Kujanpää.
Both Ritva Oksanen and Tuula Amberla will celebrate their long careers at T Lab. Oksanen, a theatre councillor, celebrates her 60 years as an artist with a six-piece orchestra in her concert Praise for Life. Amberla will celebrate her 40th anniversary as an artist with her Small Jazz Orchestra.
Antti Autio (solo) and the folk rock band VIMMA represent a new generation of Finnish musicians. The duo of Maria Ylipää & Marzi Nyman pamper their audience with atmospheric music and musical hits. Anna Murtola introduces us to flamenco music in her work La Tierra Blanca – combining Finnish and Spanish traditions.
The final day will feature theatre: the evening will start with the murder mystery musical Murder for Two, a co-production between Musiikkiteatteri Kapsäkki and Linnateatteri. The programme concludes with Jani Toivola's moving and funny solo piece About Love.
