Juha Siltanen’s rousing play brings SS leader Heinrich Himmler back to the heartlands of Finnish Tavastia.
Himmler’s secret visit to Finland took place in August 1942. The purpose of the trip is still unclear. Was it just a lake vacation, or was he planning the extradition of Finnish Jews? Or was he going to meet & greet the SS troops in Lapland?
Himmler took an interest in a maid at Villa Petäys, which is a weird little detail. And what about the presence of Felix Kersten, Himmler’s Estonian-Finnish masseur and one of the most mysterious characters in Finnish history – will the truth about his role in WWII finally be revealed?
This fascinating comedy-thriller is a story about love in its myriad forms – desired, forbidden, frightening.
