Extraordinary Nocturnal Happening at Gopal

The vegetarian restaurant Gopal

A more extraordinary Nocturnal Happening will take over Aaltosenkatu between Ilmarin and Vellamon boulevards! There will be a Berlin-inspired atmosphere, started by Jahti Records DJs offering hip hop and reggae sounds.

Mari Aaltonen is a Finnish multidisciplinary artist who has made performance art, short films and music. In recent years she has focused on her band Rokki-Mari, but has also produced solo performances about once a year (Danielson-Kalmar Villa, Vääksy (2023), Haihatus Summer Exhibition, Joutsa (2022), Gallerii Metropol, Tallinn (2021) ).

The performance Burn out solo at Tampere Event Night is a strong continuation of Burn out (2017) and a way to celebrate Aaltonen's 20th anniversary as an artist.

Visa Tikka from Lahti is an East Lahti-based poet, hippie-punk and moped rider who has been performing since 2005. Tikka's poems are born out of life lived and observed from the sidelines, without forgetting the occultism of everyday life.

The razor and fist of the poetry scene, Antti Eskelinen has quickly kicked his way into lyric-hungry hearts. Eskelinen is a member of the Virvatuliklub. The short films are shown on video screens inside the Gopal Vegetarian Restaurant, and may be supplemented. At least a video compilation of graffiti photographs from 1990-2000 in Tampere is in the works.
